Pranami Das has worked as an entrepreneur to establish a silk brand named as “Aahika” from very early age. She has worked hard to fulfill her dreams to bring Assam local silk fabrics to international market. She has done MBA and worked with Sericulture department for a long time which helped her to understand the roots of silk and its importance and also she has done many handloom clusters projects.

Our Indo-western clothing line uniquely blends modern and traditional, western and the Indian.Keeping The Journey of our fully organic products (with handmade natural dyes) made from traditional Eri silk of Assam start at our design lab where they are conceptualized and then going through the looms of the village artisans and weavers at our production centers across Assam finally end in the hands of our valued customers. Right from spinning the yarn and weaving the cloth to designing and manufacturing fasionable garments it covers everything. In the process, we involve around 300 weavers in various villages in the clusters spread across various districts of Assam adds Pranami.

Her Entrepreneurial Journey

She started her brand “Aahika” in the year 2016 with owning several looms and few experience weavers she wanted to promote the unexplored silk that is Eri in modernized way she started natural dye with various flowers, leaves and roots presently she has more than hundred looms a supporting each and every weavers families. The weavers and she mutually builds a support system to outshine “Aahika” manufacturing and services.
