Textile design is essentially the process of creating designs for woven, knitted or printed fabrics or surface ornamented fabrics. Textile designers are involved with the production of these designs, which are used, sometimes repetitively, in clothing and interior decor items.
Bagmita Handique at Juga Textiles Since 2013 has developed a unique style of its own, reflecting the ancient traditions of weaving in a contemporary style to make them more appealing to the global consumer. We concentrate on traditional garments as well as fusion wear for the trotting consumer. Our aim is to put JUGA textiles on the lead market claims Bagmita.
Bagmita’s understanding of modern designs and the innovative use of traditional crafts has created a new classicism. Today the company is renowned for its distinctive use of colors, quality of fabrics, intricate embroideries and a gloriously rich Indian aesthetic clothes and dress materials of quality.
She first started her entrepreneurial journey on 25th of May, 2013 with three looms and a team of five women weavers. The objective was built on the patronage of craftspeople, it has made a significant impact in creating employment in underdeveloped areas of unemployed youth of Betbari of Sibsagar Assam, both men and women. To train unskilled women of deserted areas of the region are trained in Handloom weaving & to create important assets for extremely poor or landless households. It was to understand the needs and if possible to providing sustained livelihoods to the destitute women members of the society by recognizing & building their skills, thereby enabling them to overcome their hardships is an extremely necessary and crucial step. Over the years it has patronized several organizations and youths working in these areas and helped in developing skills and taking them to the market.Today Juga Textiles have been able to cross milestones and striving for excellence and continuous growth with expansion in business growth with planning to employ even more people from the region and train them in the age-old traditional art of weaving.
